TASC and Sinopec Uganda have officially launched a certified forklift operator training program for 25 local operators under the Tilenga Skills & Workforce Development Program.
The training, hosted at UIRI Namanve, is designed to equip participants with practical forklift operation skills, safety knowledge, and the professional competence required to support Uganda’s growing industrial and energy sectors.
The initiative reflects the value of strong partnerships between the private sector, public institutions, and industry regulators in developing a skilled local workforce. With support and presence from the Petroleum Authority of Uganda, the program also reinforces the importance of safety, certification, and local capacity building within major national projects.
For the 25 operators taking part, this is more than a training opportunity. It is a pathway to improved employability, higher professional standards, and meaningful participation in Uganda’s industrial development.
As the Tilenga project continues to create opportunities across the oil and gas value chain, programs like this play an important role in ensuring that local talent is prepared, certified, and ready to contribute.
TASC and Sinopec Uganda remain committed to supporting workforce development, industrial safety, and skills transfer for Ugandans.
